Enjoy a Cowboy comedy concert with the English Culture Circle

Eva from the English Culture Circle is taking us to the Spagat Theater to hear A Man to Lean On - Texas Cowboy Songs. It’s an evening that isn’t meant to be taken entirely seriously, playfully and humorously exploring stereotypes of masculinity and the romanticism of the Wild West.

The music and comedy show created by American-Swiss performer Lucy Wirth and the Munich musician Tobias Weber features Randy: He is from Texas, wears boots, has a guitar and loads of stories from somewhere way out yonder. Randy is not just a cowboy or country crooner but a prophet. He has learned his lessons from life and not from school. With a perfectly understandable Texan drawl and mocking smile Lucy Wirth, alias Randy, reels off his stories and sings country songs in a bell-like voice that range from Dolly Parton to Beyoncé, while Tobias Weber plays the guitar as if galloping over the prairie. Between campfire romance, survival training, flirting and his outdated understanding of gender roles he finds himself quite splendid.  He is irritating, provoking and fascinating. A throwback of a lost era or a revelation?
